Overview

This section of the site offers a mixture of material from the press, academic journals and the wider literature on Margaret Thatcher. Items are written from all manner of perspectives and, of course, their contents do not express the views of the Foundation.

The press

From The Times, read an account of a fraught conversation between MT and Ronald Reagan during the Falklands War, or Julie Burchill explaining why "Slimeballs always hate a strong woman".

From The Daily Telegraph, Bill Deedes remembers his friend Denis Thatcher .

From 2005-08 most major items covering MT from The Times and Sunday Times are present on this site.

Obituaries of key figures in her life and political career are also available from 2003, again from The Times.

original research

We are compiling a short bibliography of MT for download, and publishing some notable articles and extracts.

For example, Antonio Weiss has allowed us to publish his original research into Margaret Thatcher's religious outlook. Jon Agar has written on Margaret Thatcher's career as a scientist and its influence on science policy.
