Falklands: Cabinet Office note of unminuted OD(SA) discussion - OD(SA)(82) 37th (0830Z) ("special operation") [Chiefs assured ministers that Sutton was not contingent on success or otherwise of such operations; Mandarins' Group held inconclusive discussion of alternatives] [declassified 2012]

The discussion is noted in a letter dated 19 May; listed by date when it took place. There is no reference in the minutes themselves.

The discussion would appear to relate to Operation Plum Duff, the landing of an SAS team outside Rio Grande air base in southern Argentina from which were flown its Exocet carrying Super Etendard aircraft. See Ewen Southby-Tailyour Exocet Falklands (2014).
