EC: Maastricht European Council record of conversation (Sessions 1-3?) [British Foreign Secretary's notes] [declassified 2012]

Document type: Declassified documents
Source: Carrington Private Office MSS (released under FOI)
Editorial comments:

The notes probably cover all three sessions of the Council. Some Carrington-esque humour is present in the notes. P.L.G. stands for "Poor Little Gaston", the Luxembourg PM Gaston Thorn. Depending on MT's feelings about him at the time Thorn also features in other Carrington notes as "B.L.G." ("Bloody Little Gaston") or D.L.G. ("Darling Little Gaston"). B.B. and D.D. seem to mean "Bloody Belgian" and "Dreaded Dane". Lord Carrington's Private Office papers were released under FOI to the Margaret Thatcher Foundation in 2012. The originals are due for deposit in FCO files at TNA.
