Saturday 9th October 1982

Continued all week to remind Peter M [Peter Middleton] that we wanted a CONVERSION

Best to sell 5 year and buy 10-12 year

- we would cheapen debt by 0.8% points per £1 debt

EG [Eddie George] - said he would like to think about it

- but no action - he is probably trying to persuade Gordon Richardson

-neither have we had any word about my 10% Conventional with optional Conv to 3% index in 1987

but we had already overfunded £79 in Banking October by beginning of week
