PM spoke in Wales - Falkland Spirit applied to railways - “go back in the national interest” a very bad message indeed - Selwyn Gummer I expect - should only go back if it is in their interests not the interests of their union officers [in fact this was the Cheltenham speech]

Dinner at Richard Layard’s - extend YWS to YOPers [those on the Youth Opportunities Programme] - he thought a good idea
