Sheffield sinking clamour in papers

Cecil P [Cecil Parkinson] said he had been nobbled by George Younger to support Invergordon. PM wanted to do it.

Emergency Cabinet on Falklands - Cecil P said there would be an attempt at a peaceful solution.

Christopher Dunn (Broker) at Reform - he was still v. bullish for UK. I asked him to buy £8,000 of World Bank £ Bonds at 14% or so.

MS [Michael Scholar] said it was no use proposing a bribe-out solution to the Falklands.

Personal Note to Leon Brittan on Invergordon

- get wages down as a quid pro quo

Bill Synder and Louise Schaffer at Chelsea Arts Club

- he has been hired by SDP to advise on direct mail subscriptions
