Patrick Minford - discussed CPRS Unemployment report

talked briefly about my leaving

Rowe + Pitman for lunch (Michael Jodrell)

Scholar was upset by letter I wrote to Lothian (Citibank NY) and Michael Darby about the draft article - saying that could not go to MBC [monetary base control] while Bank was staffed at present!

Sent note to PM saying that I disagreed with CPRS report - no marginal analysis - wrong choice set etc.

J. Vereker anxious to get an Agreed Report for CPRS Study

Saw Brian Griffiths at Gilder’s Launch party - BG conceded that we had been right about M1 M3 inflation - this was quite a change

He said I should be gvr of the Bank of England - but I could not put myself forward!
