Quiet day

Phoned Eddie George about min price for 1886 IGs [Indexed Gilts] - he wants to fix it above yield on existing IGs. I told him I would not like that! We must sell it out - checked with Peter Middleton to ensure that this is so

Wrote to P Middleton about getting a floating rate yield that is attractive

Lunch JH [John Hoskyns], Christopher Stoney - he was rather confused on monetary policy - did not know difference between money and credit - but right about TU’s etc.

Dinner with Walter Goldsmith - much talk about oil etc.
