Falklands: UKE Buenos Aires letter to Fearn ("Falklands Talks") ["my current impression of what we are up against"; Fearn thinks only option is "sitting it out and waiting to see if the Argentines really do anything"] [declassified 2012]

Document type: Declassified documents
Source: ALW 014/1. Documents released to the Margaret Thatcher Foundation per FOI request 0181-12.
Editorial comments:

Date a little uncertain due to poor quality of original, but probably 3rd rather than 5th. (Comparison with the digits 3 and 5 later in the letter suggests this reading.) This document was derived from the Private Office files of Lord Carrington, as prepared for submission to the Franks Inquiry. The originals are due to be accessioned in due course by TNA where they will be found within FCO archives.
