Taken from a typed version of the appointment diary prepared in the Garden Room at some point following MT’s resignation. The original remained in the custody of the Cabinet Office. Material has been added to this entry from the handwritten original of the 1980 appointment diary, accessed at the Cabinet Office prior to transfer to TNA.
