| Editorial comments: | There was an error here in the numbering of this series: the 5 Nov 1980 meeting is the second with that number. The long-running "Chancellor's Meeting" of ministers and special advisers, plus the Treasury whip, was colloquially known as 'Prayers'. Its function was to discuss politically sensitive business. Officials were never present, but note the wide circulation within the Treasury. |
