In preparation for the two-plus-four talks, this morning there gather with the Federal Chancellor, Hans-Dietrich Genscher, Gerhard Stoltenberg, Rudolf Seiters, Dieter Kastrup, Major-General Klaus Naumann from the command-staff of the defence ministry, and myself. ... In passing, the Chancellor reports on his talks with Margaret Thatcher, whom he portrays as a “tremendous fighter and a splendid woman ”. He has made peace with her again.
