Dear Ron,
I was grateful for your message which Cap Weinberger passed to me.
As I told him, we are entirely at one with you in wishing to strengthen COCOM. Our people are already in close touch bilaterally about achieving Alliance agreement on ways of making our enforcement machinery more effective and about preparation for COCOM’s forthcoming meetings. I attach great importance to the closest Anglo/US co-operation in this field.
