Editorial comments: | Between 1050 and 1150. MT walked along the sea front for the press and took a ride on the mini-train. She dismissed speculation about the date of the next general election: "Everyone’s talking about dates except me. I’m not even thinking about it yet. There’s far too much else to do" (ITN Archive). The [Bournmouth] Evening Echo (10 October 1990) has an account of her tour of Conference stands, which was also filmed by BBC and ITN. Coming across a Warhol-style screenprint of herself (multiple images of MT in place of Marilyn Monroe) she commented: "Ah, very psychedelic. It’s so nice to see something bright". |
