I have been listening to the early morning programme urging people to write in and wondering whom they would choose. I really am very thrilled that my name has come to the top, particularly in what has been an historic year, the like of which we shall not see again and I am so pleased they have chosen this way when there is so much work ahead to enable peoples hopes and dreams to come true. I feel we really are building the new Europe and we are very lucky to have the chance to shape its whole future.
