Editorial comments: 1025-1045. MT visited three bandsmen injured by the IRA bombing of the Royal Marines School of Music at Deal. The East Kent Mercury, 28 September 1989, reported: "Mrs Thatcher, speaking very quietly after seeing the seriously ill men, said it was a "marvellous hospital" and the men were receiving every possible attention. "We hope they will be all right," she said, adding that the hunt for the "evil men" who planted the bomb would go on with "all possible speed." ... Mrs Thatcher also spoke to the staff, and thanked them for their devoted work." She also visited Canterbury hospital (1105-1150).
