Police in West Germany have issued identikit pictures of two men they want to question in connection with the car bomb that killed a British soldier and injured his wife and children yesterday. The two were seen shortly before the explosion in the area of Hanover where British servicemen and their families live. All service personnel in West Germany have been put on high alert as a result of yesterday's attack. British Forces Radio is broadcasting repeated warnings to them and their families to be even more vigilant than usual. This morning, the IRA said they had carried out the attacks in West Germany and at the Harbour Airport in Belfast overnight when a number of planes were damaged. When the Prime Minister arrived at the Royal Show at Stoneleigh in Warwickshire, she bitterly condemned the car bomb attack in West Germany.

Thatcher Act

Doubly horrific, because the family both were injured and saw the attack, and that just shows you precisely the kind of mentality of the terrorists. I'm sure that we shall get maximum co-operation from all our friends in Europe in trying to track down whoever did this and bring them to justice.
