Remarks visiting Chatham Boys School ("a school where everything is going extremely well")

Document type: Speeches, interviews, etc.
Venue: Walderslade Secondary School for Boys, Bradsfield Avenue, Chatham, Kent
Source: (1) Kent Evening Post, 2 June 1987 (2) Chatham News, 5 June 1987
Editorial comments: Available on CD-ROM only. Between 1200 and 1250. The ITN Archive has a further remark: "I can only say that money per pupil now, after eight years of Tory Government, is way, way, way above what it was in real terms over and above inflation". Teachers at the school were critical of the visit, claiming that party propaganda had been handed out to the children ("I love Maggie" paper hats). MT commented: "If they want it, what does it matter? I imagine they are already learning about elections". See Remarks on being subject to personal attack.
