The ITN Archive has a further remark: "I can only say that money per pupil now, after eight years of Tory Government, is way, way, way above what it was in real terms over and above inflation". Teachers at the school were critical of the visit, claiming that party propaganda had been handed out to the children ("I love Maggie" paper hats).
