See Finchley Press, 22 January 1987 for reports of the rest of the day. 1530-1630 MT visited a local geriatric day hospital where she said how impressed she was with the facilities and commented: "After visiting many old folk around the country and just before Christmas when I make of going out to see many of our older folk, one of the things they often say to me is "please try and see we can stay at home as long as we can" - and this is a great way of doing that". 1645-1715 she visited the home of an Argentine-born woman suffering from multiple sclerosis where she was reported by the Finchley Press to have revealed "her love for working with the media". ("I love doing phone-ins because you are making contact with callers").
