The Finchley Times, 13 November 1986, has an account of her remarks on General Election speculation: "I have seen all the speculation. All I know is that the next General Election will be sometime in the next 18 months and that the Conservatives will win it. We will win because we are the only party offering the country very positive policies, positive at home and abroad, positive in improving health services, positive in education and the only positive policy on defence".
