Dear Peggy,

I do want to say how very grateful I am for all your work and your achievements as Parliamentary Secretary for Agriculture both in this Government and in the previous Conservative Government. I know that successive Ministers of Agriculture have come to rely on your experience and knowledge of the industry and those who work in it. You have brought to the task your energy, your loyalty and your good humour, and you have played a major part in implementing our policies for this most important industry during the past five years.

You can be very proud of all you have done: your contribution has been very great.

Yours ever

Margaret
