[BBC Television Archive] It has been a rather exciting evening for some of us and I have reason to think that we may have been returned to serve nationally for another period in Government.
[BBC Sound Archive transcript begins] May I say that I approach that term of office with a very great sense of responsibility and humility. [jeers and laughter] It has been [laughter] a historic event and I'm very proud of the honour conferred on me. And finally I just want to say thank you to my husband, Denis ThatcherDenis, who [laughter] has been absolutely marvellous throughout. [applause]
