Editorial comments: | See Finchley Times, 3 April 1980. Item listed by date of publication. MT was replying to a letter from a local Rabbi, Dr B.J. Gelles, in the light of Lord Carrington’s remark about the PLO "not being a terrorist organisation". She told him that the Government’s attitude towards the PLO had not changed. "There is no question of our recognising the PLO’s claim to be the sole representative of the Palestinians, or of condoning the continuing links of elements of the PLO with terrorism". She added: "there is, of course, no question of abandoning our total commitment to Israel’s future". |
