In a tribute to the late John Davies, the Prime Minister said:

“John Davies was a delightful, modest and very able person. He was a wonderful colleague to work with, concerned not for personal advancement but only to further the causes in which he believed. His never-failing courtesy and thoughtfulness were known to industry, Parliament and to the many overseas countries with which he was in frequent contact.”

“His breadth of knowledge and experience was unique, and I valued it more and more as time went on.”

“He was essentially a person who believed in serving others and serving them loyally. We were fortunate that politics could attract men of his character and ability. His death is a personal sorrow, as well as a great political loss.”
