Editorial comments: 2120-2320. The Western Daily Press, 17 April 1979, carries the story. Asked to try her hand at the linotype machine MT joked that she would have the whole place out on strike. Asked her views on the paper she replied: "We like it and we read it. It does represent this part of the country very well indeed. We think we should apply for a job here, it is such a cheerful place". The Bristol Evening Post also had coverage (17 April 1979) in which MT affirmed the importance she attached to the regional papers: "It is well-known in political circles that they are more carefully read than the big national dailies".
