I have today made the following appointments and changes to the Leader's Consultative Committee:
Mr Francis Pym from Devolution and House of Commons Affairs to Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs.
Mr Norman St John-Stevas from Education, Science and Arts to Constitutional and House of Commons Affairs and Arts.
Mr Mark Carlisle QC to Education and Science.
Mr John Biffen to Small Businesses and Self-employed.
Junior Spokesmen
Mr Leon Brittan is appointed an additional spokesman on Employment, but he will continue to have responsibility for the remaining devolution procedures.
The vacant junior spokesmen posts at Defence and Northern Ireland will not be filled.
