The Soviet invasion of Czechoslovakia ten years ago demonstrated that the Kremlin will not permit any flicker of freedom in its Eastern European Empire. But the principle of liberty survives in the hearts and minds of the peoples of Eastern Europe regardless of Soviet subjection.

Today we remember especially those in Czechoslovakia who attempted to shake off the Soviet yoke in 1968. We remember them for their convictions, their courage, their tenacity and above all their patriotism. They showed the whole world how deep-seated is the crisis in Soviet Communism.

Eventually the freedom of the human spirit wil conquer the heirs of Stalin. But let not the events of 1968 be forgotten. They are a lesson to mankind.

Remember Czechoslovakia, and her brave people.
