It is with great sorrow that we heard of the death of Anthony Eden. Political and personal courage were his outstanding attributes. He was one of this country's greatest Foreign Secretaries working continually for an enduring peace on the basis of mutual respect.
He will be remembered throughout the country as a gallant soldier, an outstanding diplomat, and a great patriot. It is more than he would ask. But it is the very least that he deserves.
The warm sympathy of everyone goes out to Lady Avon who for these last twenty five years has cared for him wonderfully in health and sickness.
