Document type: Speeches, interviews, etc.
Venue: Ashfield, Nottinghamshire
Source: Hucknall Dispatch, 28 April 1977
Editorial comments: Available on CD-ROM only. Morning? See also Notts Free Press, 29 April 1977. MT spent three hours in the constituency, touring Sutton, Kirkby and Hucknall. There was some heckling. MT commented that she liked a "fight" and that it was as nothing compared with the abuse she had received in the past. "But the main purpose of her whirlwind tour was to seek out of the views of the shoppers. She talked about everything from the mountain of butter to the price of coffee ...". She was reluctant to say she was certain the Conservatives would win the seat but said: "There is a fighting chance".
