Editorial comments: Available on CD-ROM only. Morning? Time uncertain. The Birmingham Evening Post (25 March 1977) reported that MT met the press after her tour, claiming that the Lib-Lab Pact would help the Conservatives take Stechford and scorning the idea that it would give the Liberals any real influence over Labour. "The Liberals have joined forces with Labour, but they have no more capacity to influence the Government than they had before". The Pact finally gave voters a straight choice between keeping the Government in and getting it out.
