Editorial comments: Morning. The Cambridge Evening News, 25 November 1976, reported the visit, leading on MT’s arrival "at the door of a former Cambridge council house where a big fluffy black cat called Barney ran up to greet her. She picked him up and stroked him and said: "What a good omen for an election win". The house had been sold to the tenants by Cambridge City council under its newly adopted policy of council house sales. Robert Rhodes James was the Conservative candidate.
