Editorial comments: Afternoon. The Daily Telegraph, 19 July 1975, carried a photograph with the following caption: "A stormy passage for Mrs Thatcher when she took a trip in a fishing boat off Brighton yesterday and was drenched by spray. The Opposition leader had been warned that the sea was too rough but she said: "Come on - I don’t mind getting wet. There must be a hairdresser at the hotel". Soaked to the skin beside her was Mr Julian Amery, Conservative MP for Brighton Pavilion".
