| Editorial comments: | 1930. Sir Harry d’Avigdor-Goldsmith MP was the principal speaker. MT received a certificate recording that the Zionist Society had planted 60 trees in Winston Churchill forest, Israel, to mark her appointment as a minister in recognition of her efforts toward Anglo-Israel understanding. "Thanking the society, Mrs Thatcher said the gift of trees was particularly appropriate because it was a gift to future generations" (Finchley Press, 18 December 1970). |
