Editorial comments: 2000. MT chaired the AGM of the League of Friends of Finchley Hospitals. Paying tribute to staff at the overcrowded St Elizabeth’s Hospital, North Finchley, she commented, "The State has much to do to alleviate such problems as exist in St Elizabeth’s". She described Ansell Savage, retiring chairman of the Barnet Group Hospital management committee, as a man who was leaving things a great deal better than he found them twenty-one years ago.
