Around 50 Labour and CND supporters demonstrated outside the Ballroom, their chant of "Tories - out out out" audible inside as MT rose to speak. The Brentwood Gazette estimated that there were also around 200 Tory supporters present (silently) in the crowd, the whole watched over by 100 or so police. |
