It was with shock and horror that I learned of the tragic loss of life following the explosion at Bologna railway station.
Please convey most sincere condolences to the bereaved families on behalf of the British government and people.
Following as it does our discussions in Venice, this deplorable incident only confirms the need to pursue unrelentingly the common struggle against terrorism in all its forms.
