"Mrs Thatcher told many of the workers that she spoke to that her visit had changed her impression of car factories and car workers. She told many of them that the impression she had gained from the media was very different from the reality". She went into Oxford city centre to visit the Oxfam shop on Broad Street, which was celebrating its thirtieth anniversary as the first the charity ever opened. She suggested the shop would sell more clothes if prices were halved, but agreed that most of the stock represented good value for money.
