Delaying tactics
If Labour wins the next General Election, it would be by “unconstitutional cheating,” claimed Mrs. Margaret Thatcher, MP for Finchley and Shadow Minister of Transport, yesterday.
Mrs. Thatcher told women Unionists of South Fylde, at Lytham, Lancs., that the Government did not like Boundary Commission proposals to divide a number of constituencies because the Tories could gain an extra 15 to 20 seats.
The Labour party, to find a way out of this, had begun a report to alter local government systems—but this would not be completed for five to seven years, she said.
