| Editorial comments: | 2000. See Finchley Press, 26 February 1965. "After the business members joined Glebe Ward for a joint cheese and wine party at which they were delighted to meet Mrs Margaret Thatcher. The party was a great success and members were standing to hear Mrs Thatcher, who thanked them for their successful work in 1964 and encouraged them in their efforts for 1965. In a forthright condemnation of the Government’s economic policy, Mrs Thatcher drew attention to the loss of confidence in this country from abroad. It would take a long time to repair the damage to our prestige". |
